Fondue anyone?

What a FUN night! This is our "other" neighborhood. Our friends, Jenny and Chris host lots of "gatherings" and invite us. We've gotten to know their group of friends and almost feel a part of their neighborhood. Its fun to hang out with them. We seem to do something with them almost every month whether its playing Werewolves late into the night, going to a cabin retreat for a weekend, going out to dinner, or something else, its always fun! Fondue Night was was the most recent gathering for couples on the 13th. We ended up staying WAY too late, especially with the time change. But it was fun! Thanks Jenny & Chris and all our friends in Cedar Hills. Check out all the food ... and this was mostly the food for the cheese fondue. We also had chicken and steak, potatoes and a few other desserts! YUMMY!! We laughed at so many things, our stomachs and mouths hurt from smiling and laughing so hard. NayNays and a quarter ... nuff said! Notice Dion trying to sneak into the background of these pics ...

And I promise Steve was there ... he just managed to NOT be in any pics. Sorry Steve. My fault!

I LOVE to do CRAFTS!

I'm not great at CREATING, but I'm great at COPYING. My friend Meredith told me she had once heard it called R&D ... ripoff and duplicate! That's me! That same friend holds a craft day at her house once a month. She finds fun ideas, buys supplies and we all just pay for what we make. Last month, it was the cute little bags I made about a month ago (I posted pics of them). This past Friday, we made hair clips! Here we are making them.

And here is the final product ... mine at least (others made different ones). Meredith made a TON of them. I just made 10 - 3 of the Red, White and Blue, 2 purple and 2 pink, and one each of the other 3. Lots of fun! Want to know how to make them? Go to this blog. That's where Merf found the idea. http://theidearoom.blogspot.com/2010/03/rosette-barettes-and-hair-acessories.html

I still need to post about my craft night with my "other neighborhood". These ladies have let me be adopted into their neighborhood gatherings and we had a blast when we went out. And I love the stuff I made. Its on my facebook, but I haven't had a chance to make my pages yet for here. :) Coming soon, I promise!

Couple more pages with old pics ...

Sometimes Scraps of Ellay (the designer whose creative team I am on) will come out with scrapbook kits that I REALLY love, but I don't have any recent pictures to go with it. That was the case with this kit. I don't HAVE to do something for every kit, but if I like the kit I WANT to use it. :) This kit made me think of two things ... Alyssa's piano recitals and one of her dance costumes from last year. So, I dug through my old pictures that aren't scrapped yet (digitally or on paper) and created these two pages.

First piano recital.
Alyssa does 3 dance competitions each year. I take a lot of pictures at each, but don't want to do 3 sets of layouts about each competition - she had a red costume, a hot pink costume and this one - so they just don't all work on one page! So I decided to do 3 layouts - one for each costume. One page will feature a good shot of her in the costume and then I'll do a facing page with all group shots and action shots from all 3 competitions. This is the first of those pages. She performed to the song "Bugle Boy". She loved this routine!

Serious? Lyme Disease in our area?

YIKES!! YUK!! That's what I have to say about it. I HATE ticks especially when they are infected with Lyme Disease or other yucky stuff. Grrrrrr... Hope we can all be aware of it and none of my friends, neighbors or family be affected. If you haven't heard about it and you live near here, send me an email for details. You can also look at this news article for a little bit of info from earlier this week. Or check KSL for their news piece on it tonight.

Spring may have sprung, but winter came back!

A few weeks ago, we had some beautiful weather, followed by 8 inches of snow on the weekend. The girls loved playing in it. Taylor and Jessica helped me make a snowman (while Alyssa was at dance). He wasn't the best snowman, but the girls loved him. Taylor also enjoyed EATING this snow. She scooped it into a cup and ate it like a snowcone. WHY will she eat snow but not food? Sigh! Anyway, you gotta love spring in Utah ... just when you think its here, its NOT. At least it melted fairly quickly and the snow coming down right now isn't even sticking. YEAH!

Beginning of DisneyWorld Scrapped

So ... I have so many great pictures from DisneyWorld that I'm intimidated at the idea of scrapbooking them. Normally, I scrapbook things so they are in chronilogical order in my album, but with DisneyWorld, I'm tempted to do themed pages (all princesses on one, rides on another, classic Disney characters on one, Christmas decor on one, Magic Kingdom on one , Epcot on one etc) even though that means that stuff from our last day might be on the first page of the WDW pages. But when I think about doing that, I get TOTALLY intimidated and overwhelmed. If I were doing the pages the traditional cut and paste method, I would honestly print all the pictures and spread them all over the floor in piles and layout ALL the pages at once (and I'm really thinking I could easily have 20 pages!). I seriously have probably over 1500 pictures - although some are repeats from my brother's camera or the PhotoPass camera. SIGH!!! It was such a fun trip though, I really want to get it done so my girls can see the pages.

Anyway, today, I scrapped the FIRST of my pages ... it is its own unique little thing so it worked to do it without worrying about all the other pictures. Its the Gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. It is AMAZING. The girls loved finding all the hidden Mickeys on the house and I was in awe at the THOUSANDS of pounds of ingredients and the 2 employees working the store INSIDE the gingerbread house. Snap, Click, Flash!!

Taylor LOVES to take pictures. After I took pictures of them after their makeovers, she wanted to take pictures. She had me pose for a couple pictures, but then I got tired and tried to rest. But she still wanted to take pictures. I love the one of my legs ... she thought since she took one of my head that she should take one of my legs.Credits: Sweet Sophisticate Kit by Digital Couture

I already posted these pictures, but I had fun making this page so I thought I'd post it.Credits: No Ordinary Girl by Scraps of Ellay

Makeover

Jessica wanted to have a friend over for makeovers. Monika came over and makeovers ensued. Taylor joined them for makeup, nails and toe-nails. They are ALL girl.
