Update as of Wednesday night

The CEO at Steve's day job talked with the potential investor yesterday and gave him the letter of intent (terms for the investment/buyout). The potential investor said that he will move forward and do "due diligence" research to determine if he will sign the agreement. So, things are still hopeful, but nothing is done yet. "Due Diligence" may take 2 weeks or more. In the meantime, Steve is still applying elsewhere and still doing demos to other potential investors and companies that might license the technology. We'll see how it goes, but it looks like at least a month before we'll have income again ... AGHHHH!! :) But life could be so much worse! We are all safe and healthy (knocking on wood).

We still have not decided if we are canceling our trip to DisneyWorld in December. We've already paid for our plane tickets, the Christmas party at DisneyWorld, booked our condo ... we'd lost most of that. So we're playing it by ear. Thankfully, we had never told the girls about it so either way they won't be disappointed. I can't imagine telling them we were going and then now, having to take it back. They would be heartbroken.

Thanks for all the prayers and support! I love you all!

Applesauce Scrapbook Pages

I already mentioned that I spent LOTS of time recently canning apples ... but here are the pages I created.

Jessica says "soakin" like it means really. Not sure where she got it, but she insists that is the word she wants to use. Some might say stinkin' long or super long or really long ... but Jessica says "soakin". And she reminds me of a little surfer girl when she says it. I love it!
Free apples from 3 trees = LOTS of canning! My mom, LaNae (my sister) and I started on Fri and continued on Mon, Tues and Wed! All three girls helped some, but Jessica LOVES to help the most. She spent more time helping than she spent playing. She also ate her fair share of apples and apple peel! Taylor and Jessica decided to go outside for a bit. The toy truck was dirty so they asked grandpa to wash it. But evidently, it wasn't clean enough because the girls turned the hose back on and got each other "a little" wet. Dripping!

Job Update ... Ladies' Night Out

The old phrase, "No news is good news" ... SIGH ... oh, don't we wish that was the case! Still no news and that is NOT good for us. The board/CEO at the company where Steve works has not been able to meet with the potential investor again since they agreed to change the terms. The potential investor has been extremely busy and they haven't had a chance to talk. Its tiresome, stressful, frustrating, aggravating, depressing, infuriating, .... We are into week 3 now since we found out the investor pulled the plug again. Steve has really started applying for other jobs but is still going to work most of the day to see if he can help in anyway with getting funding. He does technical presentations to potential investors most days, but most of them are only interested in licensing and/or using the technology once it is done. HELLO ... do you people not get it? It won't EVER be done if they don't get some funding now. Sorry, had to vent! He's worn out though and so am I. Really!? How do people go months on end without a job? Just have to keep relying on faith I guess.

On the brighter side, I'm planning a ladies' night out ... because I NEED ONE!! Whose with me? Meet at my house on October 17th at 5pm to carpool.

We're going to Gardner Village for the "Witches' Night Out!" Haven't decided on where to eat yet, but wear your best witch's costume or at least hat and we'll have a relaxing night, just browsing the shops and seeing all the witches. RSVP by email or post on my blog so I know who to expect. ANYONE is welcome! Hope to see lots of you!

Here is what their website says about the night out: "Witches love any excuse to have fun and throw a party. Ladies...join your fellow sister witches for this evening out. An event just for ladies 18 years and older! Plan now to wear your most elaborate witch’s hat or costume, Gardner Village will be filled with enchanting witches from 6 pm to 10 pm both nights. Enter the drawing for fun prizes at 7 pm, 9 pm and 10 pm nightly. Also enjoy an emcee, dancing, music, food booths and more. Stop to have your fortune told, enjoy spellbinding activities in our shops, and join the Witches Parade at 8 pm nightly. Leave the children with the sitter and grab your witchy friends for this spellbinding ladies night out. "

Flutter Flutter ...

I wanted to share my happy little moment with Jessica on Friday. She made a paper butterfly awhile back at school. Its been hanging on our fridge. She got it down on Friday while I was making lunch for us. She kept saying flutter, flutter and waving it up and down to make its wings flutter.

So, I started saying "flutter, flutter" and chasing her around the house. We raced around the house several times - kitchen to hallway, to front door, dining room, kitchen, living room and around. She would just laugh and giggle every time I'd catch her. Then I'd relax a minute and she'd take off again, giggling the entire time. It was just one of those spontaneous moments of fun with my little girl. Then I remembered a book we have called "Watch me". I got it out and read it to her and we did all the actions of the different animals. One of the lines is: "The butterfly can flutter all around. Flutter, flutter, flutter, flutter. Watch me flutter all around. Flutter, flutter, flutter, flutter." Sometimes I wish I had a camera that could just follow me around and take pictures when I tell it to. I wish I had pictures of this little moment with Jessica, but this blog note will have to serve as my reminder of it instead.

Once again, the little moments that make us smile! When I stop and take time for them, it makes me worry less, stress less, be grumpy less and helps me be more grateful for every moment I have with my children. I feel blessed to have such beautiful, happy, healthy little girls. They truly bring me joy!

Some Random Days at our House

I got behind again on my normal blogging activities ... been so caught up with the chaos and stress of the job situation. So, here are a few pages I did. The first is from a late-over Alyssa had with the other girls in her church primary class. There were 9 girls at my house that evening, most of which are 9 years old. They watched a movie that ended just after 9pm. Silly girls! The second page is the result of Jessica and Taylor being left in the bathtub to "play" and getting my bottle of body wash! How simple it is to have fun when you are little. I LOVE to listen to my children giggle. I LOVE to listen to their funny stories and watch their silly antics. I LOVE to be reminded of how truly simple and fun life can be! THANK YOU GIRLS for reminding me.

Timpanooke Camping

Back in September (the 11th and 12th) we went camping for the 3rd time this summer. The Jensens invited us to go camping with them. The kids were so excited, as long as it didn't rain. Karen and Adam joined us too. We found a spot at Timpanooke that was perfect for three tents. It had a horse corral too, which the kids loved playing in and kept them entertained. They lit pretend campfires which they built out of pinecones & rocks and went exploring a bit too. Connor wanted to camp so badly but was just too sick so Dallas took him home for the night and Kylie and Robyn stayed with us. Otherwise, it was a good trip! Here are my pages that I scrapbooked today. Thanks Robyn for sharing your pictures. :)

It was a good evening/night/morning. So, the jury's decision is ... we'll camp again next year, but if it looks like rain, you might just count the Lindsey's OUT!

I'm going to try to be better about giving credit for the scrapbook kits I use. :) This page was created using "Let's Camp S'more" kit by Chelle's Creations. http://www.chelles-creations.blogspot.com/ or http://www.scrapmatters.com/

Hopeful news ...

Its not promising yet, and definitnely not solid yet, but at least things are hopeful again. The board (including the previous investor/majority owner) agreed yesterday to re-negotiate with the potential investor and have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow where they will present the terms that the potential investor originally said he would agree to. So, now we cross our fingers that he is still interested and willing to move forward. There are several reasons why he wouldn't still be interested, but we are hopeful. If he agrees to the terms, then its a matter of time before they are back in business againn ... but that "time" is yet to be determined too. It may take weeks or longer to get things finalized and the first payment made. Not a done deal by any means, but I'll take hopeful!!

On the other front, Steve is looking for other jobs. He spends some time every day looking for new openings. He's sent it to a recruiter as well as several specific jobs. He's an director-executive level (depending on company size) and a senior engineer though so not a lot of jobs out there for him. But I'm proud of him. He has grown so much in the last 3 years - in leadership, engineering skills and LEAPS AND BOUNDS in writing and doing oral presentations ... overall professionally ... not to mention he is a better husband and father.
