Ghoul's Night

Every year my friend Jenny hosts a Witch's Night Out.  We all wear witches hats and play games and hang out.  Lots of fun.  I love these girls.  This year, we ate amazing appetizers, yummy soups and delicious desserts.  Then we played a game kind of like taboo and charades combined.  The players each write down 5 nouns and we play three rouds with the same words.  Each team takes turns guessing.  The first round you can use actions or words to describe the noun on the paper, trying to get your team to guess as many words as possible before your time runs out.  When all the words run out, round two starts with all the words back in the bowl.  You try to get your team to guess as many of the words as possible with actions and only ONE word.  Again, when the words run out, round three starts with all the words back in the bowl.  This time, you can't talk at all, just actions.  SO FUN!  May I just say ... bikini wax, belly button lint, President Obama, Nacho Libre, Goonies, medically induced coma, ... it all means lots of laughs!  After the game, we do a gift exchange.  Everyone brings a Halloween or witch themed decor item.  AWESOME stuff.  I LOVE my "The Witch is In" sign.  :)  It now hangs in my office.

These are all ladies from my neighborhood in this pic ... have I mentioned I love my neighborhood?  I get to hang out with people like this!
Years ago, we tried to convince Jenny and Chris to move to our neighborhood.  Instead, they moved to Cedar Hills.  They have corrected themselves now and moved into our  neighborhood, but I'm glad they lived over in Cedar Hills for awhile.  As a result I've gotten to know Jenn and Jodi who are amazing women and I'm grateful to call them my friends.
Ok, in this next picture, you have to notice my cool hat!  Last year, it was a boring $12 hat from Wal-Mart.  It had feathers around the edge, but otherwise was a very plain, relatively ugly hat.  I really didn't like it, but at the time, it was a price I could justify.  I was rather envious of all the cute hats I saw others wear.  So this year ... I decided to dress it up.  My assistant, Melissa and I went to Hobby Lobby and bought some toule ribbon, a big feather and a silver Christmas tree ornament (picture frame).  We wrapped the hat with the toule ribbon which had a zebra striping in it, added the silver frame (minus the glass), the feather and then we also added some black spiraling sticks and some bling (silver beads and silber square brads).  Basically, $10 in supplies, an hour of time and some hot glue and I LOVE the way my boring $12 hat looks now.  Thanks Melissa for all your help!  This picture is with Jenny's sister-in-law Missy who I got to chat with a bit this year.  What a sweet, fun person she is.  Then there's Lisa, another friend from the neighborhood who has REALLY blessed my life.  And Kristen ... who just makes me smile and laugh.  She has energy coming from every pore of her body.
Most of the group ... a few had left prior to the group shot.  So fun!

Jenny, thanks for hosting your party.  SO MUCH FUN!  I love the excuse to wear a witch hat, buy a witch gift for the exchange and hang out with my friends!
