Hi all - I hate being sick! Taylor came down with strep throat on Friday ... and they said I looked like I was in the beginning stages of it, so we both got an antibiotic. On Saturday, we took the rest of the family in too. Jessica tested positive, Alyssa looked likely and Steve was probably not, but they all got antibiotics too! Yep, 5 prescriptions! AGH! Steve still had his gig on Saturday night, so we did that and watched the game at a friends. Then Sunday, we all spent the day taking it easy. By Sunday evening, I was feeling WORSE, much worse. I was having pain in my right jaw and ear, to the point of tears. Steve loaded me and the girls in the van and off we went to the urgent care again. The nurse tried not to laugh at us - the third visit in just under 48 hours. The dignosis ... the infection is causing swelling in my jaw and throat which is causing fluid to build up in my ear or something to that effect. Not actually an infection of the ear drum, just things building up into my ear. So, more medicine including a pain killer to help with teh pain until the other stuff can kill the infection and clear me out. So far, not helping! Still hurting a lot and I can't open my mouth really big or close it all the way. Both the little girls are doing well. Taylor still have a cough though. I kept Tay home from school today, just to make sure the antibiotics had kicked in and she isn't contagious. But I'm sending them all to school tomorrow. They all have Thanksgiving feasts. Hate to make them miss them especially since I know they aren't contagious. They've acted happy and like they are feeling well, so that is a big plus!
THANK GOODNESS for a GREAT husband who has helped a ton with the girls yesterday and then tonight and been so patient with me as I wimper and whine! :) And THANK GOODNESS for my parents who took my girls all day today so I could totally take it easy and rest! One of the side affects of the medicine is insomnia though ... haven't slept any today and am still pretty wired. The pain med is supposed to help, so I'm headed to take one now and hope I can sleep. Otherwise, tomorrow is going to be a long day!!
Here's hoping we are all healthy by Thursday when we host dinner for 23 at our house!! Sorry this is kind of a whiny post ... its just an honest, how I feel kind of a post.

Good luck with your dinner and I am glad you are feeling beter!
I know you suspected that you would get it. I just got a call this morning (it's Wednesday) from our ENT saying that Ella tested positive. Not sure why it took 5 days to get the results, but she is now on antibiotics, too. I'm the only one that hasn't got the nasty junk! Hope you are all better quick, if not already.
