Somewhere over the Rainbow

Tonight, there was a very beautiful rainbow out our back windows - unfortunately I didn't think to get out the camera. It was a double rainbow with both bows very clear and you could see the full bow. The girls flipped out over them! Alyssa was so excited - she just had to go find the gold ... AND that got the little girls excited too!
They were convinced the rainbow ended in "the dip" (a road in our area that has a big dip - 1200 East) and the other end was in Clarissa's yard! We were getting ready to eat dinner though so Steve agreed they could go look for it after dinner. Their excitement lasted over 30 minutes! The cutest part was how excited the girls were. Jessica kept telling us all about the rainbow and if they didn't get there soon it wouldn't be in Clarissa's yard anymore and then they wouldn't get the gold UNLESS it moves to our yard!
Alyssa wantedto find the rainbow to get the gold but her reason was the best! We are getting ready for our block party in July. We had talked about renting a mechanical bull blowup but it will be about $500 so we decided we couldn't. Alyssa is just BUMMED about it. So, when the rainbow appeared, she announced that we could find the gold and use it for the mechanical bull. The girls ate dinner probably the fastest they ever have ... and that includes all the times they got up to look out the windows to make sure it was still there! And when it started to fade they ate even faster! Steve and the girls headed out to search, but came home empty handed. Darn leprachauns are just too good!
