A Pumpkin Walk

My nephew Ronnie's school does a pumpkin walk. They do it differently than our school. We enjoyed it. Each class decorated pumpkins around a theme. The themes all related to their school's values. Then the classes were displayed outside for everyone to see. My kids liked seeing the pumpkins, but they also loved playing on the playground, and having dinner there. Ronnie's class did the Candy Land theme pictured to the left.

When I first saw it, I thought it is a great idea and I wished our school did it too. But I realized it is a lot of work for the teachers - the kids all do their pumpkins IN class - and probably a lot of time away from work for the kids ... ok, we'll stick to our pumpkin decorating display where the kids decorate a pumpkin (if they want) and bring it to school. Then the families can come see them after school and have a pumpkin dessert. Its much simpler than the walk idea. We'll stick to attending their Pumpkin Walk and our decorating display. :)
