For Christmas, I gave Steve a new Radio Control Plane (its not a remote - right Steve?). This one is a jet, much bigger, faster and complex (and expensive) then the previous plane he had been flying. Two batteries, two of lots of other parts ... The neighbors have all been as excited about it as he has been. Over Christmas break they helped him assemble it - I think they might even have been more excited about that part than he was. He likes to fly them, but not assemble them. And ever since it was all assembled, they've all been asking when is he going to fly it ... He was feeling a little nervous about it. He taxied a few times on our street, but decided he needed the extra space of the school to actually fly it. So, on the 21st we went to fly it! The whole family piled in the car and went to the school were we met 2 of the neighbors. Here is Steve BEFORE with his plane!
Here are some pictures of him, Jared and Jeremy looking at it, and making adjustments.
Here are some pictures of the plane in flight! (Yes, it is the tiny speck somewhere in the sky- the one you probably can't even see!) This plane goes HIGHER and FASTER than his other plane which made it really hard to take pictures of it in the air! Every time I'd zoom in, I'd lose the plane! The sky was really blue though and the mountains are pretty with all the snow! :)
Here is the plane AFTER flight! Yes, its missing the front half of the nose and the canopy. Actually, he did really well flying it. He was pretty nervous and it was tough the first time, but he managed to control it and even did a fairly good landing. But then he was taxiing (is that how you spell it - taxi-ing) the plane and considering taking off again. When he pushed on it to increase speed, it flipped into a pile of snow and CRASH! Fortunately, the damage is all foam so it will be an easy fix! I think he'll get the hang of it and really love flying it. He loves flying. Someday he hopes to fly a real plane! I'm sure he'll be even better at that than he is these! At least I hope so! :)

And here is what the girls do while dad flies his plane ... We load the bikes, scooters and skates into the back of the van and take them with us so the girls entertain themselves. Yes, we only have 3 girls ... the fourth is a friend, Makenna. Makenna was at our house playing when we left to go to the school, so we took her with us. Too bad her dad was in school - I'm sure he would have loved to be there to watch the new jet.
