Update ...

If you haven't read the post from yesterday, you might want to read it first. ...

So, today was another day. ... no major bad news, just another raging kidney infection for me. I noticed it a little last night but was hoping it wasn't really one (but it is a big part of why I didn't sleep). Today, it definitely is. Oh the joys. But after 2 hours at a dr office, I'm on meds so tonight should be much better.

Thanks to all of you who have left comments of love, support and friendship - both here and on facebook. I think I've had record number of comments! If I'd known it was so easy to get people to comment, I'd have announced a major crisis in my life earlier. :) Seriously, thanks for all the comments. It does make it easier to know that we have so many friends supporting us.

More details for those who want them: When Steve came home yesterday afternoon we discussed exactly what is going on at work and financially for us. We organized some things and are moving forward tentatively with no income. He's polished up his resume and sent it out to a couple of places. But, they are trying to salvage things AGAIN at the company he works for. The team at work is scrambling to find another investor. Their first priority is an investor very interested in putting a chunk of money in now for a share of the company if he can have the guaranteed option to buy the company outright in a year at a price determined now. They are putting together a letter of intent and hoping he will agree to the amounts. We expect to know an answer on that this week or early next week. If it is a yes, then it will include back pay for the employees and a guarantee of one year of work. If this deal doesn't happen, then their team can turn to a few other potentials with similar terms and hope someone else bites on it.

If the options don't work out, well then we're unemployed and we'll job search locally. Right now, we have some leads, but give us a week or two and we may be asking you to share your leads too. :)

We're doing ok. I'm a basket case, but that's not that unusual, right? :) We told the kids last night. Alyssa actually asked us. Steve and I were both rather grumpy and tired. We told her we'd had a bad day and she (with a sassy and sarcastic tone) asked "What? Did dad lose his job or something?" She changed her tune pretty quickly when neither of us answered right away. When I answered "Yes, he did," she offered to sell snow cones every day after school and give us the money. So sweet! We explained that its a little bigger than snowcones. Jess and Tay don't really get it, but Alyssa does. We asked them to respect us when we say no on things, to be patient with us because we're a little more stressed, to try to do what we ask of them and to keep us in their prayers for things to work out.

Thanks to all of you for all your support already. We really appreciate it. And we continue to ask for your prayers that we will be strong enough to withstand this trial, that we will be guided to make the right decisions, that things will work out as the Lord has planned and that we will be patient until then. Thanks!

My goodness Donna, when it rains it pours! I can't believe on top of it all you're dealing with a kidney infection. If you need any help with carpool, let me know and I could figure something out. I hope you're feeling better.

I'll take two...snowcones, that is. Such a sweet girl. Funny how kids can push us to our limits, but once they realize our spirits are crushed they come to our rescue.
